Description of how the game can be used to fit the categories: Rubik’s Race is a challenging game that helps the players develop a variety of skills. Visual perception is practiced in this game because the players must look at the randomizer after it is shaken up and see what pattern they must copy on their big board. The players must perceive the colors that are on the randomizer in order to be able to interpret the patterns and repeat them on the big playing board. Problem solving skills are involved in this game because the players must figure out how to get their board pieces to match the pattern that is on the randomizer. This requires the player to move their pieces around until they have matched the pattern. Fine motor skills are incorporated in this game as the players must use their fingers to push the little tiles around the board to recreate the pattern. Response speed is important in this game because the player must quickly figure out the pattern and recreate it before their opponent creates the pattern. The speed of their actions and problem solving is important so that the player can win the game and beat their opponent.
