DOIs (digital object identifier) unique alphanumeric string that identifies content and provides a persistent link to its location on the internet

Guidelines for DOIs and URLs:

Include a DOI for all works that have a DOI, regardless of whether you used the print or online version.

If an online work has a DOI and a URL, include only the DOI. 

Regardless of the format that you find the DOI listed, provide it in the preferred format ... https://doi.org/10.XXXX/aXXXXXXX

                                 no doi? identify your doi by searching for your article in...

URLs (uniform resource locator) specifies the location of digital information on the internet and can be fournd int he address bar of your Internet browser. document and file name. These should link directly to the cited work.
