History documents contain photographs and a scrapbook (1915-1928) donated by Mr. Hickey. This scrapbook should be described in greater detail. It contains much information about students and the area. Photographs with explanatory documentation by Mr. Albert O’Connor Jr. pertaining principally to the Saint Francis debate team and several fraternities (Alpha Delta Phi and Zeta Sigma Pi). Other documents include: -information on the genesis of the college mascot “Friar Frankie” -a Centennial picture booklet (1847-1947) -Mock Democratic National Convention (1984) -Founders Day 1979 brief history of the college -Musical score of St. Francis College Alma Mater (1948) -Book cover from “premium” book given to Joseph Ferry “for progress in First Grammar” (1890) signed by Brother Athenasius -Picture of collegians at St. Francis College including Charles J. Maher accompanied by a letter from R.M. A1-01-01 Box 1: This series contains information related to the General History of the College. Includes booklets, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, articles, photographs, X-Ray technique 1932 A1-01-02 Box 2: This box contains memorabilia on St. Francis College. Some specific material contained in this box are freshman hats, pins, fraternity and sorority pins, dance and homecoming booklets, garter belts, etc. A1-01-03 Box 3: This series contains newspaper articles on the history of St. Francis College and a scrapbook containing pictures dating back to 1928. One article contains a short summary of the destruction of Padua Hall and the rest of the newspaper clippings deal with the history and consist of photographs with small captions. The pictures are of football and basketball teams in the early 1900s. |
