Basic Information about the Library

Entrance to the Library

Saint Francis University Library is located at the heart of SFU's beautiful campus. We are number 34 on the campus map. For more information please contact the Public Services desk at 814-472-3160. Also, you can read our Mission and Vision statements.

The library maintains a focused print collection of more than 65 thousand books which strives to support the curriculum. Most of the print books are shelved on the Lower Level. Also, we have an extensive array of electronic resources including streaming video, ebooks, and hundreds of thousands of full-text periodicals in our databases.

The library offers quiet study areas (Lower Level) as well as places where students can study together and/or collaborate on projects. There are three Group Study Rooms on the 2nd floor available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The length of time library materials may be borrowed varies depending on the type of material, but most items circulate for 4 weeks. Course Reserve materials are for use in the library for 4 hours.
