What are the steps to finding the full text of an article at SFU?

1. If you are searching in one of our databases or Discover ....

Follow all possible links that may lead you to the full text. Examples may appear as :

  • Find full text.

  • Full Text PDF

  • Find a copy in another resource that your library has access to.

  • Search for Full Text by following links like these:

         Full Text             


2. If you just have a citation for an article, it is best to start by...

Searching Discover...

This will be the quickest way to find the article and request it.  "Select Request through ILL" > login with your university login and password > select "Submit"


3. If you can not find an article in Discover...

Search Journal Finder for your journal title and follow all possible links to locate the full text.

4. If you do not see it in our Journal Finder list...

First, create your account by registering.

Next, download the add on to you browser.

Clean up of imported data is a necessity when wishing to then export a bibliography for you assignment.

Things to check:

  • capitalization in titles, subtitles: full work and chapter, page titles also
  • italics
  • abbreviated words
  • metadata from a website often misses the author, website title, and date of publication or updated date
